NERANESE (pronounced Nair-ah-ness) was founded in 2021 by Sonja Nesse with a vision for a collection where sustainability, beauty, and real life meet.

Bringing over two decades of behind-the-scenes experience designing for some of the fashion industry’s most iconic names, Sonja used the pandemic shutdown to reset and launch her own independent brand. Rejecting the relentless pace of traditional fashion, NERANESE is grounded in ease, longevity, and an ethos of respecting our natural world at it's core.

Sonja draws inspiration from both New York City’s urban edge and Los Angeles’s laid-back vibe, with a leaning toward non-seasonality for clothing made to last and be loved indefinitely. Every piece is designed and responsibly crafted in Los Angeles, California through a process that is local, low-impact, and ethical end-to-end.
